As someone who has taught English as a high school teacher for thirteen years, I would like to share the unique and challenging environment faced by educators in Japan. Japanese teachers work under extremely tough conditions and have a very weak position, requiring them to be extremely sensitive towards students. In situations involving problem students, strict disciplinary actions can lead to lawsuits, often putting teachers in a disadvantageous position.
Additionally, Japanese teachers are overwhelmed with numerous tasks beyond their regular teaching duties, leading to a state of overwork. They often have to work on weekends for club activities and are busy after school as well. Furthermore, when thefts occur within the school, the culprits, who are almost always students, are rarely caught.
Beyond the challenges in the education sector, I also plan to write about various aspects of Japanese culture, cuisine, and societal issues. These articles aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of Japan from multiple perspectives.
