Since August, I’ve started visiting the Chamber of Commerce regularly. At the Chamber of Commerce, you can get free consultations about running a sole proprietorship. You can talk to city officials about expenses, and there are opportunities to meet and talk with actual entrepreneurs. They also offer free courses on how to use expense management apps and host study sessions for sole proprietors. It’s incredibly comprehensive, and there’s no reason not to take advantage of it. Since everything is free, it’s a much lower-risk option than paying for some questionable seminar.
In addition to the Chamber of Commerce, the Industry Promotion Foundation, the Industry Promotion Center, and various banks offer free consultations on a wide range of topics. Banks primarily offer advice related to loans, so if you don’t need a loan, you might not need to consult with them. I was advised that it’s crucial to meet and talk with as many people as possible, so I scheduled four free consultations in August, three of which have already taken place. Not only have I received valuable advice, but discussing my business plans has also gradually helped me to clarify my own thoughts.
In September, I plan to attend four sessions on expense management apps and four study sessions for sole proprietors. By then, I expect to have obtained my national drone certification, so I’m looking forward to being able to have more specific discussions at the study sessions.
When I first became a teacher, I thought I’d cling to the benefits of being a public servant until I died, enjoying a stable life at a leisurely pace. The idea that I’d start building something from scratch, as I’m doing now, would have been unbelievable to my past self. If I told the younger me about this, I think he’d be shocked. But I’m determined to keep improving so that I can proudly say that this was the right choice.
